Elena’s Daycare & Learning Center has been owned and operated by our family since 2001. Our founder, Marielena Veracoechea Sphenson—known to our families as Ms. Elena—is a retired educator whose career began in 1972. Her experience includes teaching children of all ages, serving as an administrator in public and private education, and founding Unidad Educativa Dr. Domingo Guzman Lander, a private school in Venezuela, in 1979.
After relocating to the United States in 2001, Ms. Elena began caring for children in her home. As the daycare grew, she moved into a dedicated childcare facility and established Elena’s Daycare & Learning Center. Her vision remains at the heart of our work: creating a welcoming, homelike environment where children feel safe, comfortable, and ready to learn.
Safety guides everything we do. All employees must undergo fingerprinting and FBI background checks and complete required training, including CPR, first aid, and shaken baby syndrome prevention. We maintain the licenses, permits, and certifications required for our childcare and transportation services.
Our transportation services help families get their children to public and private schools, other daycare centers, and destinations arranged with parents. Drivers must undergo driving record reviews, fingerprinting with the FBI database, and background checks. Each child has an individual seat with a seat belt, with a booster seat provided when needed. We use inspected vehicles and promote a respectful environment free from bullying.
At Elena’s Daycare & Learning Center, we understand the trust you place in us. Whether your child spends the day learning with our staff or rides with our drivers, our commitment is the same: attentive care, dependable service, and safety that gives your family peace of mind.
